Thank you for visiting my blog and obsessing with me on a regular basis!
Turquoise was Pantone’s Color of the Year in 2010, and still reigns (in my opinion)as one of the most versatile, vibrant Hues out there. Turquoise can be incorporated into any room you are vibing, and what better P.O.T (pop of Turquoise) than a fabulous light fixture? This Marjorie Skouras (for Currey and Co.) Beaded Chandelier blends and Wow’s in a variety of homes, and adds a unique touch to each design style. One of my favorite Masterpieces from Shine by S.H.O below A more modern and minimalist version from Shine by...
read moreThere are so many ways for us to find design inspiration today, and if you don’t know what inspires you, just start looking around you, people watching, shopping, reading, etc… you’ll feel what inspires you when you see it (and vise versa). Sidenote: it just might be NEON. I tried to ignore the neon hype for awhile, but the urge only became stronger (sort of like dieting and staring at the cookie jar all day-not gonna work). Now I’m in trouble, because I want to transform every room in my house into a neon...
read moreNow that summer has finally arrived, I want to spend as much time as possible NOT indoors. Summer always has a great story, and I imagine it includes entertaining guests as the sun is setting, noshing on great food, and lounging to great music outdoors. Now, its time to have a look beyond your walls and windows, and ask yourself a few questions about your outdoor space: 1. How will I utilize this space? 2. How many people will typically be incorporated into this space? 3. What is my budget? 4. Where does my footpath/walkway start and...
read moreWhen scouring the largest Flea Market monstrosity known to man this past Sunday, I was reminded of the wise old saying, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”. If you don’t believe me, you need to join the 20,000 other vultures for a day at the Rose Bowl Flea Market in Pasadena. I feel like my flea market intellect is rising with all the experience I’m getting lately. And, YES, there really is a flea market culture. If you’ve never been to a flea market, you might feel like you are lost in a sea of hoarders and...
read moreAs a designer & a design student & a lover of all things design, my motto is this: DESIGN IS EVERYTHING. Im constantly searching for inspiration via- people, places, things and events (can I buy a NOUN) and I wanted to share some of my favorites with you on a regular basis. Enjoy! 1.PORCUPINE QUILL MIRROR-HORCHOW Loving this 33” round specimen right now in both black and white. It’s a great conversation starter, its sexy and unique, and it’s eclectic enough to hang on its own or blend with many varying...
read moreBlack and white stripes have a magical way of forever remaining current and up-to-date. Like that of a luscious slice of chocolate cake, black and white stripes are pretty to look at in any setting, can be incorporated anywhere, and are always satisfying. Fashion and interior design trends are featuring black and white around the clock, meaning essentially that this killer combination offers something for everyone. Perhaps before striping, you should ask yourself , “Where do I want to use stripes?” Is it on the walls, to...
read moreI figured since I get way too excited for wallpaper samples to be delivered to my studio , maybe it’s time I share this love with the world, a confession of sorts really. And, before we get into the self adhesive’s, lets discuss wallpaper in general. Ahem- wallcoverings, which I will refer to as “WC’s” (not to be confused with water closet). Perhaps you’re like me – you love the idea of creating a room entirely inspired by the endless array of papers out there to bask your walls in. Or, maybe yer on the other side of...
read moreThe entire month of February is consumed with Pink, Red, and White tokens of affection in the form of hearts and flowers (and chocolate if yer lucky). Many of us would consider a touch of pink or red in a room, but never both. Perhaps we might ask ourselves, “Would the room be screaming Valentines day year round? Would it look too juvenile- like Feb 14th gift wrapping, or a big lavish bouquet of love? How am I gonna convince HIM to put pink in a room?” Well, I’ve asked myself these questions and decided tokens of love year...
read moreIve always loved me a sexy cowhide rug, but in the recent months my adoration has grown as I’ve watched them evolve into intricately designed rugs and even home furnishings. In the past, I usually related cowhide to the animal shaped cutout rugs, usually in the black and white zebra stripe (you know the ones). These rugs I still adore b/c they manage to look fabulous when incorporated into most styles, and they can anchor a space beautifully. But, now I have a new appreciation for these leather and hide beauties thanks to the man...
